What to do > Cultural heritage > Abbot’s Tower in Laguardia
As you approach the tower, we are greeted by an imposing stone structure rising majestically towards the sky.
It is a tower-castle that served as a defence for the town walls, on the western side, behind the large castle and its towers, which defended the northern part of the town.
It has a square floor plan, in the image and likeness of those built in northern Italy and the Catalan Pyrenees at the dawn of the Romanesque period.
On entering the tower, visitors are immersed in a journey through time. The spiral staircase, expertly carved into the stone, leads to different levels offering panoramic views of Laguardia and its surroundings.
From the top of the tower, you can look out over vineyards stretching as far as the eye can see, creating an idyllic landscape that reflects the historical and cultural importance of the wine-growing region.
